Polycarbonate (PC)

At a glance:

  • High strength and dimensional stability
  • Heat-resistant and flame-retardant
  • Excellent electrical insulation
  • Colorless, transparent glass alternative

Polycarbonates are high-quality thermoplastics that, as a glass-like, electrically insulating alternative , impress with their exceptional hardness and dimensional stability . Compared to glass, the material is significantly lighter, stronger, and splinter-free, making it particularly safe to handle. Thanks to its high transparency and heat resistance, this plastic is ideally suited for demanding technical applications.

Polyester (PET)

At a glance:

  • Extremely tear-resistant and abrasion-resistant
  • Temperature, aging and chemical resistant
  • Ideal for electrical insulation
  • Optimal basis for industrial film applications

Polyester is a plastic that impresses with its high temperature and aging resistance, as well as its excellent suitability for electrical insulation . Due to its pronounced resistance to chemicals and mechanical abrasion, the material is ideal for film production . Thanks to its enormous tear strength, polyester offers a reliable and durable solution for demanding applications, even under high stress.

polyethylene (PE)

At a glance:

  • High strength combined with extreme elasticity
  • Good chemical resistance (acids, bases, oils)
  • Reliable electrical insulation
  • Versatile carrier for films and foams

Polyethylene (PE) is a versatile thermoplastic ideally suited for films, foams, and as a high-performance adhesive tape backing . The material is characterized by high elongation, impact resistance at low temperatures , and reliable electrical insulation. It is also resistant to acids, bases, oils, and greases; only highly concentrated oxidizing agents can impair its resistance.

Polyimide (PI) / Kapton

At a glance:

  • Particularly tear-resistant and dimensionally stable
  • Resistant to radiation, chemicals, and extreme heat
  • Highest electrical dielectric strength
  • Flame-retardant; can be used as adhesive tape
